چکیده
Abstract Background IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is an immune-mediated that may present as a tumefactive lesion in nearly any organ. These mass lesions often resemble malignancy both clinically and radiologically, some patients undergo surgical resection which could possibly be avoided with early recognition of IgG4-RD. We performed retrospective single-center study examining how many IgG4-RD were initially believed to have malignancy, particular attention those who underwent potentially avoidable procedures. Methods Sixty-three biopsy confirmed included. Clinical, laboratory, radiological, histological data collected analyzed. Results Over 60% (38/63) thought when they presented symptomatic The most common types suspected lymphoma (18/38) pancreatic cancer (11/38). Of the 38 14 invasive intervention either alleviate severity their symptoms or treatment for presumed malignancy. included Whipple resection/attempted (3), nephrectomy bile duct reconstruction (1), removal other abdominal/retroperitoneal masses stenting obstructed organs (4). Conclusion should on differential diagnosis lesions, obstructive jaundice, extensive lymphadenopathy, retroperitoneal masses. Oncologists physicians involved care aware various manifestations diagnostic approach order provide accurate minimize unnecessary While procedures this study, such organs, required regardless diagnosis, others been attenuated Patients suspicious serum protein electrophoresis, IgG subclass measurement, and, where possible, tissue before undergoing major resection. IgG4 related disease is a rare, mass forming, multisystem fibrotic disorder that often imitates a neoplastic process. Early diagnosis is challenging, as it presents with a myriad of vague, nonspecific symptoms based on the location and subsequent organ dysfunction from fibrosis. Involvement of the lower gut is extremely uncommon and only a few cases have been reported in the medical literature ...
متن کاملIgG4-Related Disease Presenting as Isolated Scleritis
A rare case of IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) manifesting as nodular scleritis is presented in a 20-year-old female. Patient complained of left eye pain and redness for one week. Ocular examination together with ancillary testing led to the diagnosis of nodular scleritis. Since the patient did not show apparent improvement after one week of systemic steroidal treatment, she underwent a biopsy o...

Immunoglobulin-G4 (IgG4)-related disease (IgG4RD) is a fibro-inflammatory disorder characterized by tissue-infiltrating IgG4 plasma cells, and, often, high serum IgG4. Several autoimmune, infectious, or proliferative conditions mimic IgG4RD. Erdheim-Chester disease (ECD) is a rare non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis, characterized by foamy histiocytic infiltration, fibrosis, and chronic inflammat...
متن کاملIsolated Mass-Forming IgG4-Related Cholangitis as an Initial Clinical Presentation of Systemic IgG4-Related Disease
IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) may involve multiple organs. Although it usually presents as diffuse organ involvement, localized mass-forming lesions have been occasionally encountered in pancreas. However, the same pattern has been seldom reported in biliary tract. A 61-year-old male showed a hilar bile duct mass with multiple enlarged lymph nodes in imaging studies and he underwent trisection...
